Terms commonly used in these products are explained as follows:

| Product | A collection of OneNET platform resources (including devices, rules, etc.). One product corresponds to a unique accessKey and product ID. There are multiple devices of the product which have the same characteristics. | |
| Product id | pid, the unique product identifier assigned by the platform when a product is created, used for marking a unique product as one of the device logon authorization parameters | |
| accessKey | More secure access keys which are used as an implicit authentication parameter (indirect transmission) to access the platform. Access authentication is performed by participating in token calculation and transmission. | |
| token | A more secure authentication parameter which is composed of multiple parameters and transmitted directly in the tunnel | |
| Device | Belonging to one product, the mapping of real device on the platform; used to establish a connected relation with real device through connection message, the minimum unit of resource allocation of the platform, differentiated through device name between devices | |
| Device ID | A platform-wide unique identification number of the device assigned by the platform. | |
| IMEI | IMEI of module, used as authorization for creating device and access to the platform | |
| IMSI | IMSI of NB IOT card, used as authorization for creating device and access to the platform | |
| FOTA | Main refers to the remote upgrading of module firmware | |
| SOTA | Mainly refers to the remote upgrading of MCU application software | |
| object ID | Object in IPSO norm, such as temperature: 3303; for details, please refer to IPSO norm. | |
