User Notice

✧ Free trial

When OneNET user uses OTA services (including FOTA and SOTA), he needs to subscribe to OTA service, which will not generate any billing, and enjoy the free use of OTA service for 100 devices. If for more than 100 devices, you can purchase a license according to needs to continue to use OTA service.

✧ Charge mode

For the same device, after purchasing a license, you can use the FOTA service to upgrade the module firmware, and you can also use the SOTA service to upgrade the MCU system and applications.

After charging, when a device that has not obtained a license is updated, the platform will deduct the corresponding license based on the device ID. That is, charging is only related to the device ID rather than product ID, Token, authentication parameters Authorization, and Access_Key.

The device undated before charging can still be updated for free for lifecycle after charging.

For terminal devices with the fee already deducted, if the card replacement is performed later, as long as the device ID has not changed, the device after the card replacement can still be updated by using the OTA service for free.

✧ Term of Service

The service takes effect after the device obtains the license, and the service becomes invalid when the device is terminated.

Charging Example

  1. If you have 1,000 devices and have never used the OneNET platform to update, the number of licenses purchased shall be more than 1,000.

(1) When you create a task for these 1,000 devices, the platform will deduct 1,000 licenses. These 1,000 devices are those that have obtained licenses. License fee: 1,000 yuan

(2) If the update of 10 of these 1,000 devices fails, the platform still deducts 1,000 licenses, but licenses will not be deducted when the failed devices are updated again.

  1. If you have 1,900 devices and 1,000 of them have used OneNET OTA service, that is, 1,000 licenses have been deducted during the first update, the license balance of the current account is 100.

(1) When you update a device that has been licensed, the license will no longer be deducted, and the platform will provide after-sales technical support services until the device is terminated.

(2) If you update these 1,900 devices in one update task, the creation of the update task will fail and you will be prompted that the remaining licenses are insufficient.

(3) If you update 900 devices that haven’t obtained licenses in one update task, the creation of the update task will fail and you will be prompted that the remaining licenses are insufficient.

(4) If you update 100 devices that haven’t obtained licenses in one update task, it will enter the normal update process.
